Sesame sriracha and honey beef skewers

Succulently sweet with a touch of spice, these sesame sriracha and honey beef skewers are a delicious meal for the whole whānau. Serve with steaming hot Jasmine rice and garnish with sliced spring onion for a good time. The beef can also be marinated the day before and stored in the fridge, ready for a quick meal the next day!

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup sriracha
  • 1 ½ tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1kg beef rump steaks, cut into 3 cm cubes
  • 3 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together the sriracha, honey and sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the beef and mix well until well combined. Set aside to marinate for 20 minutes.
  • Thread the marinated beef onto skewers.
  • Bring a drizzle of oil to high heat in a frying pan or grill pan. Working in batches, cook the skewers for 6-8 minutes or until cooked through, turning often.
  • Once cooked, set aside to rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with sesame seeds to serve.
